Kenny Elwood

24 year-old Kenny Elwood will be racing in a the 305 Sprint again in the 2013 season.  2013 began Kenny’s 18th year of racing; 4th year in the 305’s

He moved into the Sprints in 2010 after racing the  600 cc Mini Sprints beginning in March 2008.

Kenny’s past experience includes racing asphalt sprint karts for the past 9 years and go-karts on dirt tracks for 2 years.

As a member of the Brazos Mini Sprint Club his first year, Kenny proved his ability to be very competitive on a weekly basis. He received his first win in Stephenville, Tx. on April 19th, 2008 and had many Top 3 finishes after that.  Even though Kenny was considered a rookie in the mini sprints, he consistently lead the points in his class getting  beat out by a few points in the last event. Kenny was announced the 2008 “Rookie of the Year” and also received 2008 “Track Champion” for the Heart of Texas Speedway.

While racing karts, Kenny consistently led the point brackets on local and regional levels, earning several local championships and two regional championships in the last several years of karting.

In June 2006 and 2007, Kenny qualified for the TAG Racing International World Championship races in New Castle, IN, with one second-place, and two third-place finishes in his individual races at the KART National Championship races in Tulsa, OK.  While at the TAG World Nationals, Kenny qualified 13th out of 25 karts.  He gained up to 8th place and  finished 14th after a few motor problems. Even with engine trouble Kenny was only 3/10’s of a second behind the 1st place kart, so you can see it was a very close competitive race.

Kenny also enjoys all types of racing, hunting, Water skiing, and raising his dogs, Beretta, and Jada.
